برای مرتبط ساختن دستگاه‌های بسته‌ای با دستگاه‌های بلوکی CD یا DVD به کار می‌رود، تا بتوان دستگاه بسته‌ای را مونت کرده و احتمالاً به عنوان یک سیستم فایل با قابلیت خواندن و نوشتن از آن استفاده نمود. این کار مستلزم پشتیبانی هسته از دستگاه بسته‌ای و سیستم فایل UDF است.
