عملیات مقداردهی اولیهٔ یک‌باره را پس از راه‌اندازی مجدد سیستم برای مؤلفه‌های مختلف Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) انجام می‌دهد.

این اسکریپت معمولاً پیش از شروع به کار سایر مؤلفه‌های PCP، از طریق اسکریپت‌های

یا
.BR systemd (1)
فراخوانی می‌شود.
در زمان‌های دیگر نیازی به اجرای آن نیست، اما این اسکریپت هم‌توان (idempotent) است؛ بنابراین اجرای مکرر آن آسیبی نمی‌رساند ولی بی‌فایده خواهد بود.

به گونه‌ای طراحی شده است که با کاربر ریشه («root») اجرا شود و در غیر این صورت ناموفق خواهد بود.
